Our Process
A consistent, professional 5-step process for every Long Island contents claim.
Our process has five steps: Inventory, Packout, Cleaning & Restoration, Storage, and Packback. The same trained crew handles your contents from the first walkthrough to the final packback — fully documented for your insurance claim at every stage.
1. Inventory & Documentation
Before a single box is packed, we walk every affected room with your restoration contractor or adjuster and document what's there. Each item is photographed, described, and logged into our digital inventory system — room by room — so there's a clear, timestamped record of condition before pack-out begins. This protects you if there's ever a question about what was damaged, what was salvageable, and what condition it was in.
2. Packout
Once the inventory is complete, our packout technicians get to work — wrapping furniture, boxing smaller items with appropriate padding, and labeling everything by room so it can be put back exactly where it came from. Fragile and sentimental items get extra attention. Contents are loaded and transported off-site so your restoration contractor can begin drying and repairing the structure without your belongings in the way.
3. Cleaning & Restoration of Contents
Not everything that looks damaged is a total loss. Once contents arrive at our facility, we assess each item to determine the right restoration method. Specialized cleaning for smoke and soot, careful drying and dehumidification for water-affected items, and targeted treatment for mold-affected contents. We handle a wide range of item types, including electronics, textiles and clothing, documents and photographs, art and antiques, and furniture. Anything that can't be restored is documented in a clear non-salvage list for your insurance claim.
4. Storage
While your home or business is being repaired, your belongings stay in our secure, climate-controlled storage. Every claim's contents are kept separate — we never mix items from different jobs in the same space — and access is logged and locked at all times. Climate control matters: fire-affected contents and water-affected contents need different humidity conditions to avoid further damage while in storage.
5. Packback
Once your restoration contractor confirms the space is ready, we schedule your packback. The same crew that handled your original pack-out returns your belongings, unpacks them, and places them back in their original footprint using our room-by-room inventory as the guide. We haul away all packing debris before we leave, so the only thing left behind is your home the way it was — or as close as we can get it.
