Packout

Our trained pack-out technicians prepare and protect every item for transport. Furniture is wrapped, boxes are labeled, and everything is handled with care.

Packout is the bridge between damage and restoration. Before anything can be professionally cleaned or your home repaired, contents need to be carefully removed, protected, and transported. That's packout.

Why Professional Packout Matters

You might think pack-out is simple: throw things in boxes and move them. But it's not. The way contents are handled in the first 24-48 hours determines whether they're salvageable or total loss.

Damage spreads without proper handling

Wet items mold if they're stacked wrong. Sooty items transfer residue if they're not protected. Delicate items break if they're not wrapped.

Documentation protects your claim

Everything is photographed and described before it's moved. This creates an exact record for your insurance company.

Your home can be restored faster

Once contents are removed, your restoration contractor has full access and can begin drying and repair work immediately — without obstacles or constraints.

Trained crews make a difference

We use proper wrapping, padding, and labeling. Furniture is protected. Fragile items get special attention. Documentation is meticulous.

What Happens During Packout

1

Walk-through & Assessment

Our team examines the property, identifies what's affected by damage, and creates a game plan with you.

2

Inventory & Photography

Every room is documented. Items are photographed individually or by group (depending on volume) and described in detail.

3

Protection & Wrapping

Furniture gets wrapped in protective plastic. Fragile items get padding. Everything is labeled by room so it can be placed back exactly where it came from.

4

Transport

Items are loaded into our trucks carefully — nothing is thrown or stacked haphazardly. Transport to our facility is gentle and organized.

5

Receiving & Verification

At our facility, every item is received, verified against the inventory, and organized for the next stage (cleaning, restoration, or storage).

Handled by our own crew, start to finish

The same trained technicians who wrap and box your contents are the ones who load, transport, and receive them at our facility. Nothing gets handed off to a third-party mover, so accountability for your belongings never leaves our team.

Questions About Packout

How long does packout take?

Depends on the size of the loss. A small bedroom loss might take a few hours. A whole-house loss could take 1-3 days. We'll give you an exact timeline during the assessment.

What if I have antiques or valuable items?

We treat them with the same care and attention we give everything else. Fragile, valuable, or sentimental items get extra wrapping and are handled with maximum care. They're photographed individually and documented clearly.

Is everything packed, or can some things stay?

We only pack what's affected by damage or needs to be out of the way for repairs. Items in unaffected areas can stay. We coordinate with you and your restoration contractor on what needs to go.

What if something gets damaged during packout?

Extremely rare — our crews are trained and careful. Everything is photographed before and after. If damage occurs, it's documented and your insurance handles it. We work through it with your adjuster.

Packout is step 2 of our 5-step contents restoration process. Our trained pack-out technicians prepare and protect every item for transport. Furniture is wrapped, boxes are labeled, and everything is handled with care.

Once the inventory is complete, our packout technicians get to work — wrapping furniture, boxing smaller items with appropriate padding, and labeling everything by room so it can be put back exactly where it came from. Fragile and sentimental items get extra attention. Contents are loaded and transported off-site so your restoration contractor can begin drying and repairing the structure without your belongings in the way.
