Inventory & Documentation

Our team inspects the property and affected areas. Every item is entered into a detailed, photographed digital inventory system before anything is moved.

Documentation is insurance protection. Before a single box is packed, we create a complete, photographed record of what's in your home and what condition it's in. This is your legal protection if any disputes arise later.

Why Inventory & Documentation Is Critical

Protects your claim

Everything is photographed and described before pack-out. If a question ever comes up about what was damaged or what was salvageable, you have proof.

Prevents disputes

Clear documentation means no "he said, she said" about items. Insurance sees exactly what was there and in what condition.

Enables accurate claims

Detailed inventory allows insurance to assess the true value of the loss and make fair claim decisions.

Speeds packback

Our inventory system is a perfect guide for returning items exactly where they belong — room by room, piece by piece.

What Inventory & Documentation Includes

Room-by-room walkthrough

Every affected room is documented systematically.

Individual photography

Items are photographed to show condition before any handling.

Detailed descriptions

Item type, brand, condition, notable features, and damage (if visible) are all recorded.

Digital inventory system

Everything is logged into a searchable database so you and your adjuster can review anytime.

Before/after condition notes

If damage is visible during initial inventory, it's documented so there's no confusion later about when damage occurred.

Labeled before it leaves the room

Every box is tagged to its origin room at the moment it is packed, not later at the warehouse. That single habit is why packback puts things back where they actually belong instead of in a pile by the front door.

Questions About Inventory & Documentation

How much detail goes into the inventory?

As much as needed to protect your claim. Items of significant value or sentimental importance get individual photos and descriptions. Groups of similar items (like a box of kitchen utensils) might be documented together. We adjust detail level based on the loss.

Can I get a copy of the inventory?

Absolutely. You receive a complete copy. Your adjuster receives a copy. Everything is documented for the claim.

How long does initial inventory take?

Depends on the size and complexity of the loss. Small losses might take a few hours. Large multi-room losses could take a full day. We'll give you an accurate estimate upfront.

What if I find items after the initial inventory?

No problem. We can do a supplemental inventory. Damaged items discovered later can be photographed and added to the record.

Inventory & Documentation is step 1 of our 5-step contents restoration process. Our team inspects the property and affected areas. Every item is entered into a detailed, photographed digital inventory system before anything is moved.

Before a single box is packed, we walk every affected room with your restoration contractor or adjuster and document what's there. Each item is photographed, described, and logged into our digital inventory system — room by room — so there's a clear, timestamped record of condition before pack-out begins. This protects you if there's ever a question about what was damaged, what was salvageable, and what condition it was in.
